|
The purpose of this study was to explore and describe the illness experience of nursing department students. The qualitative research method used was phenomenological approach. The interviewee were 5 nursing department students who did illness- experienced during nursing course of study.
Data were collected from December, 2002 to February, 2003. Data collected interview and describe oneself illness experience directly. The contents of the interview were tape-recorded and their essential themes were analysed by Colaizzi´s phenomenological method.
The significant statement from data were extracted, and then organized into 55 themes, which resulted in 15 clusters of themes and 6 categories. 6 Categories of the illness experience of nursing department students were ; ´Being feel change of body´, ´Being fear by changed-role as patient´, ´No-one is that be shared with mind´, ´Painful memories which remain vividly´, ´Value of health that is aware´ and ´Making sure my future´.
